Flying to Hong Kong with Pets

Cats and dogs will only be given entry into Hong Kong if the Agriculture, Fisheries, and Conservation Department (AFCD) have granted a special permit in advance. The application will then be completed in either English or Chinese only. Pet owners can download the application form from its website or requested through a fax message. The owner will also be fined a certain fee for the certificate. All of the required documents, the permit application form, permit fee, and a stamped envelope must be sent by post or taken in person to the AFCD Permit Issuing Desk. Pet owners will have to wait for five working days to process the application. To speed the process, an owner can opt to authorise a friend or relative who is currently in Hong Kong to process the application on his behalf.
